plagiarizing

Finally finished Potter today. Yes. I know. It took me almost eight days. But really, there was at least one day that I didn't tough it and several others that I barely read a chapter. I know, what kind of HP excitement is that?! But I was crazy busy and crazy tired when I was actually home. Which wasn't really my home either. Anyway. I am done now. And partially to avaoid doing what the title talks about but mostly just becasue I am still tired and don't feel capable of putting the proper effort into it at this time...I'm just going to give you a link to my friend's site and you can read that. Besides, she's a whole ton smarter than I am, so you'll get a whole lot more out of her stuff than my incoherent babblings anyway. And I made a couple of comments on there if you really are just that excited about reading something that I actually wrote. Can't imagine why you would be though...

So here it is. Enjoy!

So glad to be going back to work tomorrow without even softball to look forward to in the evening. DOH!

you tried to chase the sundown

So, yeah. Today was Thursday. Which means that when I get off of work tomorrow it is the weekend!!!

And I get to go to a baseball game tomorrow. Not a bed thing to do on a Friday night. And get this...as much as I love baseball and all that, this will be the first baseball game I've been to in at least a year and a half. And actually, I think it has been just over two years. Wow. Kinda sad really. But the Rocks are playing the Dodgers, so it should be a pretty good game. Have no idea where we are sitting yet, no tickets, but as long as I'm there I don't really care.

Again, not a whole lot happened today. Well, actually, I guess it was a pretty good and busy day. Went up to teh parent's house, after I stopped off and let the dog out, and gave myself a haircut. (yes, i know, not really that exciting) Then I got to play some disc golf. Which was perfect for today. It was pretty ncie out, not too hot, not too cold, and there were a few clouds but no lightning till I was getting in my truck to head home. And I managed to play decently too. Granted, not as well as I "should" have played. According to myself. But, in all, it wasn't a bad round.

Then I, yeah.

Oh, I did get to make a complete idiot out of myself while trying to call a friend that I hadn't talked to in a while. Guess they finally switched their phone number to one that is actually for the state that they live in now... Go figure. Guess that just is further confirmation that my communication skills need to be practiced a little more frequently...

I was able to obtain said friend's proper #, but I am thinking now that perhaps I should've kept the old number as well. The person who answered sounded quite friendly; and I do get up to MN on occasion...

Well, I think I may actually be ready for some sleep. Hopefully. Doesn't seem like I can sleep very well in this house for some reason. And sleeping through the night is something that is usually not a problem for me. Especially, when going to sleep at the times that I have been here. But for some reason... Guess I just am trying to give myself a glimpse as to what life as an older person is giong to be like...

music: "It Ends Tonight" -- All American Rejects

Oh, and one of my friends just found out today that they are getting transfferred to London. Which they wanted. And it is really awesome and everything. Might be a little jealous actually. But I am going to miss her a whole lot more than I even realize right now, I think. Which is going to not be fun. But regaurdless, it's not always about me. (thankfully) So, congratulations. I really am excited for you. And I'm looking forward to having an excuse/incentive to make another trip to England and maybe actually getting to see London this time. (there I go making it about me again...i really need to stop that)

tatoos, sweet tea, and nascar on sunday

Don't ya just love the lyrics they come up with for country songs?! Doesn't really get any better.

And that's really about all I have to say. Pretty much a whole lot of normal, boring stuff happened on Wednesday.

OOhhhh. Had the new Baconater from Wendy's for lunch. Not too shabby. But I think I've decided that bacon is just something that fast food places can't really do properly.

And yeah. Still working on Potter. Getting close to half-way. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm slow...

dreams that you dare

Didn't really think that watching the CMA's Music Festival was going to be an emotional experience... And yes, I TiVo'd it. Had to. Too much softball to play last night. And some of it was pretty cool. Big & Rich had a couple of twelve year old girls come out on stage and play keyboard and fiddle with them. And the song that they did is one from their new album that I had sorta liked, but not really listened to a whole lot yet. But it was simply an incredible experience to watch them perform it. And then there was Martina. Need I say more? If only she were fifteen or so years younger. Heck, I don't think I even have a problem with the age difference...just maybe the fact that she's married and has kids...could be a problem. Not going to keep me from thinking that she has one of the best voices I have ever heard though.

So tired today. Think I almost fell alseep like twenty times on the way back to the office at the end of the day.

And then on my way home I felt like I did when I used to get carsick back when I was like 8. Thankfully I didn't ever have to puke or anything, but there were a couple of times where I was wondering. And then my truck died. Could have been cause she's not really used to running the AC for long periods of time. But she died. But she started right back up. And it happened when I was making a turn a whole maybe five blocks from home. So it didn't turn out to be a problem at all.

And speaking of being tired...maybe I should try to get more than four and a half hours of really lousy, much interrupted sleep tonight.

Wow. Ok. Just totally had a cat land in my lap. Kinda wasn't ready for that. Must be time fir bed.

music: "Kiss the Girl" -- Ashley Tisdale hey, they have kids. i can't help that...

still counting the days

Unless by some small miracle (it's possible we'll get 10 inches of rain next monday night), softball is over for the summer. And we lost again. But it was fun. Very fun.

Think I really need to try to find a team to play with this fall. And winter. And spring.

Is eating chocolate cake at 12:30 in the a.m. a bad thing? I had milk with it...

Well, I need to be up in about 4 hours and 58 minutes now...so I probably should get some sleep.

music: well, the radio and the computer are both going right now, so I'm not quite sure...

i want to feel something

Do you ever feel like this? Yes, I know that it is the name of a country song. And everything that goes with that... But really. If you don't know the song, at least go look up the lyrics. (http://www.metrolyrics.com/lyrics/2147434441/Trace_Adkins/I_Wanna_Feel_Something) And yeah, I know it is sung by Trace Adkins. Normally not a huge fan of his, mostly because of his willingness to sing some really dumb songs. But occasionally he delivers something like this. And he has a great voice, specially for songs like this; just a good, deep, sad sounding voice. Anyway, the song. Seems like lately I have been thinking similar thoguhts myself. Just seems like there is just so many big holes that I don't know what to do with. So much time that I can't concentrate on anything, or keep interest in for more than a few minutes at a time. Yeah, I know...probably just the 'ol A.D.D. kickin in again right?

And all this after I honestly had, overall, one of the best weeks that I can remember having in a long, long, long time. And I'm gong waaaaayyyy back with that. With the awesomely relaxing day that I had on Wednesday that just did so much to make me happy and excited. And then there was Friday. Got to go on a mini road trip which is always fun regaurdless of destination or purpose. The mini road trip involved leaving the state of Colorado and ending up in Wyoming. Granted, it was just Cheyene, which is a whole whopping maybe 20 miles over the border, but it still counts and ending up in a different state always makes the trip better. And the destination for the evening was a Bon Jovi concert! Ok, so I'm not the hugest Jovi fan ever, but let me tell you, it was a pretty awesome concert. I am of the feeling that good music is always better live. And someone like Bon, who has been around for a couple of decades now, knows how to get things done. I had forgotten all the great stuff he has recorded over the years. Definitely a bigger fan of his now than I was a couple of days ago. But more on the concert later. Well, probably not, but if you want to hear more I'll gladly tell you all you could possibly want to know about it. And moving on to perhaps the best part of the whole thing... I was invited to the concert by a very attractive chik who happened to have an extra ticket. Like I said in the stuff that I wrote Wednesday night (but chose not to ever post on here ;0 I have no idea why someone like her would even take the time to take a second look at me. Not that I am ever going to complain about that though. So yeah. Friday was a good good good time. Could've possibly been better for the future if some things had gone differently, but that really doesn't matter for right now. Friday was still great.

Why am I spending so much time on here when I have Potter to read?! Don't really know. This was just supposed to be a few lines about how awesome the concert was. Bet ya'll are wishing that this week of me house sitting and having access to a computer at night was over already so we could go back to me only having like six and a half minutes to get down whatever foggy thoughts are left in my head from what I wanted to write the night before... Anyway, guess I should try to get some sleep. Busy day tomorrow and it all starts earlier than normal. Have a good Monday. I miss you but still love you.

silversun

Finally went for a run last night. Yep, remember that run that I was going to go on like three months ago? Went last night. Think I did about three miles or maybe a little more. However long it was it was longer than I had planned on. But it was good. And I could feel the burn in my legs which is a good thing.

And then I slept.

And I may have a hard time concentrating on work at all today. But as it is already a couple after 7 already and I'm supposed to be starting at 7 today...you'll just have to wait till later to find out why....

i'm awake and feel the ache

So, for those of you who may not go back and read comments that were posted... Awesome day it was yesterday! Couple of hard core hours at the amusement park on the rides and then an incredibly awesome movie.

First off let me just say that amusement park rides were not designed with six + foot people in mind. Kinda squishy. But still fun. And it is not bad to go when there are barely any lines at all. We seriously did pretty much all the rides we wanted to in the space of two hours.

And then we got to the theatre in perfect time for Live Free or Die Hard. Such an awesome movie! And the ticket taker lady was saying that they are going to be doing two more Die Hard movie in the next few years. Can't wait. Cause if they are even close to being as good as this one was...wow. Now I am just wanting really badly to watch the first three movies that came out long ago. I've seen the first one a couple of times, but it is always worth watching. And the others I have only seen little tiny bits of so just need to sit down and watch them all the way through.

Then in the afternoon, after I got home, I finished reading the book that my friend gave me on the 4th. Turned out to be a pretty sweet book. Very easy to read and it definitely kept the energy level up through the entire book. It was written in a kind of journal-ish voice, I guess, and I tend to like books like that. And the main character pretty much just cracked me up most of the time. Dude had a bad case of the sarcastics. I was just sort of hoping that it would take me a little longer to get through so that the new HP book would be out by the time I finished it. Now I have to try to get through a whole other book by then. And it's the first book of a trilogy. Oh well. It sounds like it is a pretty sweet trilogy and I have been looking forward to reading it for a while now. And it's not like it's going to take me a long time to get through HP. Very doubtful that I'll be putting it down longer than it takes me to put in my time at work and get home.

So yeah. Yesterday was pretty much a great day. Very nice. Even with the stress filled time after I finished reading the book. I just spent some time writing and got it all out instead of just letting things stew inside all night. And it really helped. Mostly. And then I had a pretty good evening after all that was done. Even managed to get to sleep before midnight and woke up a little earlier than normal this morning. And was in a pretty good mood still. So hopefully I can get that through the day with me and see what happens tomorrow...

sleeping

So...hi.

Nothing really to say right now.

Not working today. Took the day off of work. Going to Elitch's to ride some rides. Friend has some free passes. (thanks Adam!)

Looks like a beautiful day to be outside. And not working.

Hope ya'll have a great day!

i have to go, i have to go

"Dumbledore would have been happier than anybody to think that there was a little more love in the world."

Finished The Half Blood Prince last night. Or rather, I should say, early this morning. When I picked it up last night I had no idea that I could finish it but thought that I'd be doing pretty dang well for myself if I got a hundred pages or so of it knocked out. So two hundred and fifty or so pages later... But seriously, and if you've read it before you already know, you CAN'T put that book down, especially to try to sleep, once you've started the last bit of it. I had enough trouble getting to sleep once I finished it all. And that was close to one in the morning.

It is maybe a good thing that I didn't have a computer last night as well. Cause then I would have been up even longer. So much going on in my head once I finished reading. Just wanted to sit down and type it all out and see where I ended up. As much as I enjoy using pencils, I just don't really like writing for an hour or more at a time with one... Besides which, I am no fast typer, but if I try to consistenly write quickly for a long time there is no way on earth anyone is going to be able to decipher anything that I put down after the first ten minutes or so.

I was going to try to get in earlier than usual this morning and try to bang things out a little, but that didn't even come close to happening. Don't think that I heard my alarm going off for the first 45 minutes that I was apparently hitting the snooze button.

In other news... Had a scare the other day concerning my dearly departed computer. My mom got a call at their place from Dell about me renewing my warranty. My mom told the lady that I probably wouldn't be interested as I no longer was in possesion of the computer in question. The lady then asked my mom if I had ever contacted Dell after the comp was stolen. Apparently, I could get a refund on it as it was still under warranty. So I called Dell yesterday. No go on the refund. Was already in the extended warranty or something. If it had been stolen like six months earlier.... Oh well. Would have been nice though.

Hope it doesn't rain tonight... But then again, I do.

that screaming crowd

Three softball games last night. Only really played in one, but I batted in two more and got to pitch the last two innings of one of them. And the last one didn't start till 10:15 so I didn't get home till about 11:45 in the pm. Long night. But fun. Very fun.

The team that I actually play on lost again. But it was the closest game we have had all season and the most we have scored all year too. Final was 17-18. Not too shabby for a bunch of old guys.

Was crazy windy up here last night. Was sleeping with the windows open and definitely woke up a whole bunch from the wind. Don't really know why it woke me up. Granted, it was making my door rattle a bunch and my window shades and such, but still. I usually don't wake up from things like that. Huh. Guess just one more sign that I'm getting up there in years...

And it's raining a little this morning. Just that nice, really light rain. Want to go for a run so badly. But work is about to start, so I guess that wins again.

remember that time

Keep losing little bits of my heart to a girl every time that I get to see her. Too bad she's only four months old.

Had a great 4th. But really only heard any foreworks. Didn't exactly see them at all. But at least they were there. I did get to see Garrison Kielor (know I hacked his name, just don't have time to look it up) on PBS telling a little 4th of July story. He is one of the best. Got to eat burgers and cheese and strawberries and play skeeball and eat a ton of awesome desserts. Great great day.

And came home with a whole big stack of books to read. May be going crosseyed in the near future.

And now, contrary to popular opinion, it is Thursday. Not Sunday. Back to work.

orca whales

So yep, it's Tuesday. That means softball rambling about the game last night. Got to slide into third. Head first. Upon which I was promptly called out by the umpire. Guess I was just a little too slow. But they did make the perfect throw to get me out. Which doesn't hardly ever happen, and I would much rather make them do that than just stay at second. Also got a really nice hit down the right field line that I could have gotten an easy triple out of (if not an in-the-parker) but had to settle for a double. Cause I play on the old mans team. :) That's all I can really say about that. And we lost again. But we kept the game pretty close and within pretty easy reach, until the last inning. Oh well. We did only have nine there to play with last night...

And now I think I get to go try to help put up a nice big 58" plasma at the parade house. Good stuff for the first Friday of the week.

the stars came falling on our heads

Ok. Wow. Been trying to get on here for the last few days and it just hasn't been working out. So here I am.

Kind of a crazy week, the last one was. My truck decided to take most of the week off. Thankfully I have some great people that I work with and could catch rides and stuff. And of course Monday was softball and Tuesday we had our volleyball tourney. Think we ended up with third place or something. Not too shabby considering I think we were in last place going into it all. Fun times. Got a couple of new discs Thursday for disc golf. Played some disc golf Thursday night to try out at least one of the new ones. Works pretty decent. Still need a little more time with it to figure it out though. And then the weekend I pretty much just hung out. Relaxed. Didn't do a whole lot of anything.

I did make cupcakes for the first time ever on Saturday morning. Turned out pretty dang good. Considering I had managed to turn the oven off after it was preheated and before I put the cupcakes in it. Oops. But I noticed about halfway through their cooking and turned it back on. So...yeah, they were good. And I made the frosting from scratch too. Good stuff.

And I finally finished reading the fifth Harry Potter book yesterday. That one seemed like it took a while to get through. Course, the paperback is 870 pages long. That's a decent chunck of reading. And last night I made a tiny dent (well, not so much of a dent as a ding) into the sixth book. At this point I can't remember anything at all about this one. Except what happens at the end, and I don't really like remembering that a whole lot...

Watched Ghost Rider on Friday night. Not really that great of a movie, but if you really want to watch it not a bad one to get from a Red Box. It's worth the dollar. Got to watch Shooter again on Saturday too. That is such an awesome movie.

There is a lot I am still trying to sort out in my head about things right now too. Just seems like there are so many things to try to make decisions about, but nothing to make the decisions about. And if that makes any sense to you at all, well, congratulations.

Just excited that the 4th is this week. One of the best holidays! Kinda sad about the lack of fireworks to play with out here though. Always fun to blow stuff up!
