my foot on the gas

So tired. I think I could go back to bed and sleep till tomorrow. Easily.

Didn't really do a whole lot this weekend. Was able to start the process of my trucks healing journey. And I made some cookies. But other than that I pretty much just worked. And yet...it was an enjoyable weekend. I would just like a Saturday where I could just sit on the couch all day though... Even though I know that wouldn't happen even if I did have a Saturday off.

I think I saw about 3 minutes of football yesterday, so, unfortunately for all of you, I'm not going to blather on about any of the great games that I saw. Also didn't get to see any of the baseball game last night. Think I saw about a total of maybe 5 to 7 innings of the four games combined. Not necessarily a bad thing...as I probably would have just started throwing things at the TV if I had watched more, but... Sure was hoping the Rocks at least wouldn't get swept. But I'm still impressed and happy that they made it to the Series in the first place. And there's always next season...

Nap time...

the world is blowing up

Ok. So the Rockies lost last night. I kinda figured they would. I didn't want to say it, but hey...they were coming off an eight day break, Francis hadn't pitched in a real game in something like twelve days, and they were going up against Beckett whose post-season era is hovering right around 1 right now. I really didn't think the game would turn into the utter massacre that it turned out to be, but a loss is a loss. Right? Just gives them that much more motivation to win tonight!

Maybe we cursed them playing volleyball last night. We actually won our match, and won all three games in it too. We hadn't even won one game yet, let alone a match. Did we cause the Rocks to lose? I sincerily hope not. But there was definitely some strange shift in a random spectral vortex somewhere out there in the vast universe that was wreaking havoc last night. Good for us, bad for the Rockies.

And really, we just played a lot better last night than we had been. And the other team just felt like looking at the ball land in front of them on several plays and that always helps.

I kind of like this whole starting work at 8 thing instead of 6. I don't know what I was thinking last week.

up and away

WORLD SERIES GAME 1 TONIGHT!!!!

and volleyball.

But I still get to watch the beginning and the end of the game. Which is probably more than I am going to be able to watch of most of the rest of the games. And it is the ROCKIES and Red Sox for cryin out loud. Should be freaking amazing!

Um, not really anything else to say right now. So....GO ROCKIES!

simply too easy to do

One more day until the World Series!

My abs feel like they actually got a workout at some point in the recent past. Problem is, I can't remember doing this... Hmm.

like an apple on the tree

Had a nice relaxing day off of work yesterday. Yep. That's right. Didn't have to work one little bit. It was pretty nice. Just ate some pancakes, watched some football, and then went and sat in bed and watched the RedSox/Indians game and ate cereal. Pretty sweet day.

Ok, so I did have the junk scared out of me a couple times while I was out driving in the snow in the morning. But that's mostly because I need to spend a whole lot of money on my truck to get it winter worthy again. And hey, I kept it going straight, so that's all that really matters.

The snow is pretty cool too. Although I didn't get to see or hear the thunder snow portion of the morning. Kind of dissappointed about that. But just having snow again is great. And it wasn't really enough to have to shovel either, which is the best kind to get. Especially since my shovel is still up in my parent's garage, sort of forgot to grab that yesterday...

Well, I think I need to try to get in a couple of games of minesweeper before I have to work...

the palm trees swaying in the wind

Well, I don't think that there are any palm trees out there (the closest ones that I know of are in Castle Rock), but there is definitely some wind blowin...

Hope it's bringin the snow!

So it's been a few days. Been a little busy. Mostly with work. But I actually have the entire day off tomorrow! Pretty excited about it! Definitely going to take the Sunday afternoon nap and enjoy every minute of it.

Got to help install a screen door this week. So if anyone out there needs to put one in, I know how to now. Pretty much just don't read the directions.

Well, I guess I should get home to put my laundry in the dryer that I forgot in the washing machine this morning...

Rockies SWEEP!!!

No, those aren't song lyrics or something I heard someone say on TV. The Rockies actually have swept two straight rounds of the playoffs and are in the World Series. First time ever, since the wild-card era began, that a team has swept both the DCS and the NLCS. Amazing! And they even made this one a little interesting...letting Arizona score first, then scoring 6 runs in the 4th to go up 6-1, and then giving up 3 runs in the top of the 8th (just when I was about to call it a night). But they won!! 6-4!

I could go on a bit about the game. Seen as how I actually was able to watch most of it for once. But really, the Rockies outplayed Arizona. And yeah, a little luck maybe was thrown in too. But it's sports. The way the ball happens to bounce is always a factor...

Not much else to talk about here. I'm almost finished with the last book of the trilogy that I'm reading. So much is happening so quickly. So so exciting. I've been reading it on break at work and I keep finind myself just wanting to hide in the back room so I can just finish it. Maybe I'll just have to stay up after I get home tonight and knock it out.

Well, it's 6. Time to get to work. Ooph.

there's no limit to the clothes you can put on

Did we just have a weekend? Wow, that went by quickly.

Rockies are in the process of sweeping the D-Backs!!!! One more game to go! Tonight, 8 pm Mountain time! Going to be a late night. Might need to stop and get some coffee and a huge energy drink on my way home from work...and then just head back into the office once the game is over, seen as how there will be no hope for sleeping at that point.

Man, my fingers keep spazzing on me. Typing like a three year old who doesn't really know how to spell too good yet. As opposed to those three year olds who can spell fluently.....

But did you watch the game last night? Didn't that look like just about the best baseball weather ever? Cold, raining. But it means you're playing in the middle of October. And that means something. So exciting.

Good thing I only have to work till 9 tonight.

Um, other than working right now...seems like I have nothing else going on in my life. I did manage to get out on Friday and play a few holes of disc golf. So much fun, even though the last three holes we played were more just looking for our discs, as we couldn't really see them six feet after they left our hands... But it was great just to be back out playing. Think the last time was before Labor Day. Yikes.

I think the people who's yard backs on this little office park may have a horse in their yard. No, wait, it's only a dog.

these times are troubled

"And these times are good."

If you don't know where that comes from, find it. Listen to it. And yes, the people singing it are married and have been for quite a while. Especially by "celebrity" standards. But, the rest of the song aside...that opening line is all I really need to describe a lot of my life lately. Which to me, isn't a bad thing at all.

So it's Friday again.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funday funday funday!! What day does that come after? ANY day!

Not quite sure what all is going on today, but I don't really care either. It's a day, and I'm giong to enjoy it!

And in other news... The Rockies won game 1 last night. And after the guys on ESPN were all like gaga over Arizona's pitcher being all good and "how are you going to handle pitching against him, Francis?" Oh, I don't really know, cause I didn't win 17 games this season or anything. I mean, REALLY PEOPLE! Give me a break. Yeah, he happened to lose like 4-2 to them last time, but they were talking more like it had been a 17-2 loss. Goodness. Anyway, just happy they won, and maybe, just maybe they can start getting a tiny little bit of respect.

Well, as much as I'd love to just sit and type on here all day (wouldn't that be exciting for ya'll to read?!) gotta get to work. But that is a good thing too. So have a good one and I'll catch ya on the flip side.

i've always been a fighter

It's Wednesday already! WooHoo!

Ok, so really that's not that exciting. But sort of. And I actually got like 6 hours of sleep last night and almost 8 the night before. It's sort of amazing. Felt pretty good yesterday. We'll see how today goes, but I'm thinking it's going to be a good day.

Wish I had read last night. Watched TV instead. Kinda not as good as reading would have been. Cause there really isn't a whole lot on on Tuesdays apparently. Although I did end up staying at the office after work and watching last week's episode of Chuck. So funny. That guy cracks me up. And Sarah, well, she's Sarah.

Wish I could go play volleyball tonight. So excited about that starting!

Hmm. Sure could use a breakfast burrito 'bout now...

bowies in space

So when I finally got out of bed at 6 this morning as I was walking across my room to head to the shower what song should be running through my head but Bowies In Space. Great song. But rather random to just be in my head first thing in the morning. Then I get in my truck to drive to the office. Who's on the radio? David Bowie. Must be a sign that something big is going to happen today.

And my strategy for conquering the part-time job and figureing out where all the product is out on the floor... Not so much. Last night we spent like three hours rearranging the entire women's section. Not a flippin clue where anything is anymore. Except the pants. The pants should be a little easier now. Yea...

And now, speaking of the time. Time to figure out where the house I'm going to today is and get on the road...

a crowded street

Mmm. Oatmeal. One of the greatest things to eat on an early, chilly morning. And then go crawl back into bed...

Bed. That sounds glorious.

Got to work again last night. It was actually kinda fun. Sometimes. But I think I am kinda getting the hang of things. Still sorta takes forever to get stuff replenished, as I don't really know where much of anything is. But I am formulating strategies to get faster, and I had a straighten a ton of the store last night so you kinda just learn where things are after refolding 60 of them. Don't have to go back till Friday. Yea!

Hmm. I suppose I should call work and ask them exactly what house I'm supposed to be working in today. I sorta forgot to look at that last night at 11 when I was leaving the office with the van for today. Oops. Can't expect me to remember everything...

hopeless dream

Think I soon may very well become dependant on caffine. No, wait. Think I already am. But it's just sooo good.

Didn't have to work last night. So I just put in an 11 hour day at my normal job... But really, I'm kinda liking this working all the time thing. I know, I know. It's been like 3 days. In another 3 weeks... Problem is I keep thinking of all the stuff I want to do with my "extra" money but it rarely involves paying off my bills, which is why I actually got the extra job in the first place. Guess I'll just have to find that happy median or whatever.

So excited that it's October and playoff baseball is here! I'm also excited that I finally got motivated enough again to start packing a lunch/supper for work(s). Soooooo much cheaper and it usually tastes better and it's a whole lot better for me.

"The sweetest saddness in your eyes, clever trick."

Anyone know the number of a good massage therapist? Ouch.

Well, it's that time again. Nap time!

splinters

Oy. 6 a.m. to 10:15 p.m. Sort of a long-ish day. Was going to do the 6 a.m. again today but decided against it. So I'm starting at 7 instead. But I don't have to work tonight. Just play volleyball. Yeha!! hopefully...there is a possibilty that we won't play again.

In the beginnings of the sunrise this morning you could actually see rays of light coming up from the horizon and under the clouds. It was pretty cool.

Shoot. Forgot the ibuprofen at home. That was going to be eaten like candy today. Oh well. Guess I'm just going to have to suck it up.

And one more thing. GO ROCKIES!!! Sure wish I could have watched the game last night. Sounded like it was one that was definitely worth watching. But that's what makes the playoffs so fun. Everyone comes to play. And this could be a very interesting postseason. Lots of great teams playing great ball right now. So excited!

Time to go get some food, coffee and an energy drink. Yum.
